Description

Our Tora Stripe Cushion Cover is handwoven from 100% natural tussar silk, cultivated in the forests of India’s Bastar and Assam. The stripe pattern is crafted using an ancient Indonesian printing technique called Batik, which involves melting wax onto the silk and then pouring the red dye over the top. Once the wax is removed, it leaves a stripe of the natural colour in its place that has not been saturated with the dye. Due to the artisanal techniques used, each piece will have individual characteristics that add to their charm.

Our Stylist Says

I love the boldness of the Tora Stripe cushion, especially with its striking red madder hue and silk finish, which adds a luxurious touch. It works beautifully in both contemporary and traditional interiors, bringing a splash of colour and texture that can elevate a neutral sofa or bed setting. For styling tips, try pairing it with muted shades-think grey, beige, or soft whites-to let it stand out, or mix it with other patterned cushions for a curated, layered look. Practical tip: since it’s silk, it's best kept as a statement piece rather than an everyday cushion, and using it on a low-traffic sofa or bed can help maintain its appearance.
