Description

With legs reminiscent of an hourglass, lending it its name - Tempus being the Latin for time - this range of tables is made from recycled elm. Our artisans work with repurposed wood sourced from the beams, old doors, walls and floors of derelict homes in China, some of which are more than 100 years old - steeping each piece in history. This Dining Table is handmade and the recycled materials will result in each piece having individual characteristics. In contrast to some of our other reclaimed wood pieces, the Tempus withholds a lot of its material's original character and charm in the way that the wood has been put together with visible joins, colour and texture variation. It remains unstained for a natural finish.

Our Stylist Says

I love the way this table combines natural materials with a timeless design, making it a versatile piece that can suit both traditional and contemporary interiors. The recycled elm surface adds warmth and texture, while its neutral tone makes it easy to style with a variety of colour palettes and décor accents. It works beautifully in a relaxed or rustic setting, but can also be dressed up with elegant accessories or tableware for more formal occasions. Practical styling tips include pairing it with patterned or upholstered chairs to create visual interest, and layering with textured table runners or centrepieces to enhance the natural aesthetic. Overall, it’s a sturdy and stylish focal point that invites family and friends to gather comfortably.
