Our Talasa Mirror is named after the Greek word for 'sea', in homage to its hand-carved undulating edge that resembles a wave. The shape was originally applied to a tray which was based upon an antique, but has now been reimagined as a matching mirror. The mango wood is hand painted a matte black before the edges are rubbed to reveal the wood beneath.
I love this mirror for its versatility and modern edge. The black rubbed finish adds a bit of textural interest and an understated sophistication, making it ideal for contemporary schemes or in a hallway as a statement piece. It works particularly well in industrial or minimalist interiors when paired with raw materials like brick or metal, but it can also add a chic touch to more traditional spaces when styled with softer textiles. Practical tips include hanging it above a console or dresser to maximise its visual impact, and using it in smaller rooms to create the illusion of space. Its bold, yet simple design means it can adapt seamlessly into various interior styles while elevating the overall aesthetic.
