Price History

Description

Named for its scarlet hue, our Rubia Rug is handwoven with a soumak tapestry technique. This is a flat weave involving tightly wrapping weft (horizontal) threads around the warp (vertical) threads for an incredibly strong and thick finish. The rug is washed for an antique effect and bobbles formed in the weaving process are individually sheared for a smoother finish. This artisanal process will result in each piece having individual characteristics that add to its charm. Its Dark Taupe border beautifully frames the red-orange centre.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this rug for its versatility and warm colour palette. The red and dark taupe patterning makes it an excellent anchor piece for both contemporary and traditional interiors, adding a touch of warmth and visual interest without overwhelming the space. It works well in living rooms or bedrooms where a cosy, inviting feel is desired. Practical styling tips include layering it over neutral carpets or wooden floors to bring out its rich hues, or pairing it with understated furnishings to let the pattern and colour stand out. Because it’s cotton and wool, it’s also durable enough for high-traffic areas, making it a functional choice that doesn’t compromise on style.
