Description

Named for its scarlet hue, our Rubia Rug is handwoven with a soumak tapestry technique. This is a flat weave involving tightly wrapping weft (horizontal) threads around the warp (vertical) threads for an incredibly strong and thick finish. The rug is washed for an antique effect and bobbles formed in the weaving process are individually sheared for a smoother finish. This artisanal process will result in each piece having individual characteristics that add to its charm. Its Dark Taupe border beautifully frames the red-orange centre.

Our Stylist Says

I love this rug for its versatile colour palette and modern yet understated design. The red combined with dark taupe makes it a great focal point in more neutral, pared-back interiors or adds a fresh pop of colour to a monochrome scheme. It works particularly well in open-plan living spaces or bedrooms where you want to introduce warmth and texture. For styling, consider pairing it with natural materials such as wicker or wood furniture, and layer with cushions or throws in complementary colours. Its sizeable dimension makes it ideal for anchoring seating areas, while the simplicity of the pattern keeps it adaptable across contemporary, Scandi, or even boho-inspired interiors.
