Description

The Purdy Table Lamp is a take on vintage-style lighting. Purdy takes a round approach with its metal shade that is entirely hand formed and welded, hand-painted red-and-vellum stripes reminiscent of big top circus tents. The style is complemented by brushed antique brass-toned edges and hardware. The nature of the layered painting and drying technique means that the craftspeople can only make these lamps at a certain time of year, and so limited numbers will be released into our catalogue at a time, making each piece extra special. Due to the artisanal process and natural elements that have an effect on the making of this piece, each one will have individual characteristics that add to their charm.

Our Stylist Says

I love the bold colour and playful design of this little lamp. The Chinese red shade with its classic stripes adds an energetic pop to any space, making it perfect for eclectic or vintage-inspired interiors. It works well on bedside tables, desks, or sideboards, where it can serve as both a functional lighting piece and a visual statement. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with neutral or contrasting colours to let it stand out, and keep the surrounding accessories simple to let the lamp be the focus. Its versatile size and design also make it great for adding a touch of colour in more traditional or contemporary rooms alike.
