Description

I often recommend the narrow ashmolean shelves for its tall, slim profile and softly weathered silver-birch finish - it fits snugly into a hallway, study or beside a fireplace without overwhelming the room. The light tone works brilliantly in Scandi-inspired schemes or more transitional spaces, pairing easily with soft greys, muted blues and natural textiles.
To style, mix books upright and laid flat, punctuating with small woven baskets on lower shelves to hide loose bits and pieces. Add a couple of potted plants or sculptural ceramics at eye level to break up the vertical lines, and keep at least one shelf deliberately sparse to give the arrangement some breathing room.
