Description

Originally designed by OKA Co-Founder Lucinda Waterhouse, the Leptoria cushion range takes inspiration from the abstract patterns found in nature and the ornamental endpapers you would expect to see in antique novels, encyclopaedias and history books. Made by hand, the linen of each cushion is first pulled tightly over a frame to create a taut surface for marking the design, which is drawn on tracing paper before being transferred to a tailoring machine which creates the dotted outline. The pattern is transferred onto the fabric using chalk powder paste, which gives the artisans an outline on which to embroider over with Apricot thread.

Our Stylist Says

I love this OKA cushion cover for its subtle yet sophisticated embroidery, which adds texture without overpowering a space. The apricot tone makes it versatile for both contemporary and traditional interiors, especially when paired with neutral tones or soft pastel palettes. It’s a great choice for layering on sofas or armchairs, providing a pop of colour and interest. For practical styling tips, consider pairing it with linen or cotton cushions for a relaxed look, or mix it with more textured fabrics to elevate a classic scheme. It’s especially effective in living rooms or bedrooms that benefit from a touch of warmth and artisanal detail.
