Description
The Guangxi is a petite addition to our often substantial table lamps, based on the shape of traditional Chinese pottery. It features abstract hand-painted markings of flowers in a deep burnt brown, finished with a reactive glaze. Where it has been painted, the lamp has raised texture that adds to its charm. The lamp is prettily finished with a faux rattan shade in an exaggerated empire shape. Each strand of rattan has been dyed to emulate the natural highs and lows found in the natural material. Five skilled artisans are involved in the five-step making process in Jingdezhen, a city known for its rich history in traditional porcelain design. and due to its artisanal crafting process and glaze each piece will have individual characteristics that add to their charm.
