Description

Our Talasa Console Table is named after the Greek word for 'sea', in homage to its hand-carved undulating edge that resembles a wave. The scalloped shape was originally applied to a tray which was, in turn, based upon an antique. The mango wood is hand painted a matte black before the edges are rubbed to reveal the wood beneath. Due to the manual technique, each piece will have individual characteristics that add to their charm.

Our Stylist Says

I favour the black Ani console for its crisp lines and soft scalloped apron, which bring just the right touch of detail without overwhelming a space. The rubbed-black mango wood adds depth and texture, making it equally at home in a modern-classic hall, an urban loft or an eclectic living room. For styling, hang a mid-sized mirror or simple artwork above to draw the eye upwards, then balance two slim lamps at either end. A sculptural vase, a neat stack of books and a shallow tray for keys or trinkets personalise the look. Its slim profile also makes it ideal behind a sofa as a sofa table, maximising circulation and keeping the room feeling light.
