To create their Officina collection, the famous Bouroullec brothers used one of the oldest ironworking techniques: wrought iron. Their goal was to give a contemporary visual language to wrought iron furniture which is somewhat outdated. The result is a system of hammered metal legs with linear, innovative shapes. These feet, with their great finesse, form clear, clean lines. The raw appearance of wrought iron is deliberately preserved. The uneven, imperfect surface gives these items of furniture a special vibe. By reflecting all the random marks left by the tools used to make it, these pieces add a new twist to the industrial style. The Officina collection reflects the work of the Bouroullec brothers. For them, the designer’s role is to reveal a "material culture", and their working techniques, quite intimate emotions associated with the detail of the item and its manufacture, touching on the universal. Br /> This Officina coffee table combines a warm, refined top made of solid American walnut with a galvanised wrought iron base.
This coffee table offers a sleek blend of natural walnut and wrought iron, making it a versatile piece for contemporary or industrial interiors. I love how its understated yet sturdy design balances warmth and durability, making it suitable for living rooms, open-plan spaces, or even minimalist schemes. For styling, consider adding layered textures like soft rugs, plants, or decorative books to enhance its natural appeal. Its size makes it functional for casual dining or as a spot for organising everyday essentials, while the open legs promote a light, airy feel-perfect for rooms with smaller footprints or those aiming for a modern aesthetic.
