Description

Obaby’s Stamford furniture range offers families the perfect combination of style, quality and practicality. Standing proud at the top of the range is the beautiful Stamford Luxe sleigh cot bed, crafted from thick, solid pine and featuring deluxe hand-carved ends that flow perfectly into the curved rear side rail creating a unique look that truly sets the Luxe apart from other sleigh cot beds. The Luxe cot bed can adapt to suit every stage of your little one’s early development. Starting as a cot, the Luxe features an adjustable mattress base; the top position allows parents to put down their new-born without unnecessary bending and as your baby learns to sit and stand, the base can be lowered by two further positions to ensure that they are safe and secure at all times while the presence of a teething rail helps to protect their delicate first teeth. Once your child is old enough to progress to a toddler bed, both side rails can be removed to create a toddler bed that can be used up until approximately four years old. Alternatively, if this is too large a step, use the included safety rail for familiarity and reassurance during an often-daunting transition until they get used to their big bed. And finally, when they outgrow this, the Luxe can become a useful day bed for lounging and relaxing. This cotbed requires an Obaby 140 x 70cm mattress, sold separately. The integrated under drawer smoothly glides on runners, fitting neatly under the cot bed. With a huge 77. L capacity there is plenty of storage for your child’s precious belongings and clothes. Recessed handles create a stylish and uncluttered look, whilst ensuring it remains snag free and simple to use. For this item, our supplier can deliver to your doorstep, but the drivers cannot enter your property. If you live in a flat, the delivery driver will be able to bring the boxes to the main entrance of the building, but they will not be able to take them up to the door of your flat. Therefore, we recommend having someone with you who can take in the boxes.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Obaby Stamford Luxe Cotbed for its versatile design and sturdy build, making it a practical yet stylish addition to a nursery. Its classic shape paired with a clean white finish allows it to work seamlessly in both modern and traditional interiors. Styling-wise, it lends itself well to soft, neutral palettes or even brighter accents to create a personalised space. Practical tips include adding a cosy throw or layered bedding for visual warmth, while coordinating with natural wood furniture or textured accessories can enhance a calm, inviting atmosphere. Overall, it's a timeless piece that adapts across various nursery styles while providing durability and comfort.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
