Designed in their own studio in Stockholm, Nordic Knots’ handwoven rugs are high quality and timeless. They’ve got a minimal aesthetic, in muted tones and geometric patterns – just like the rugs found at the centre of Scandinavian homes. The Norr Mälarstrand Rug was designed by Swedish architect Andreas Martin Löf for his living and work space in Norr Mälarstrand, Stockholm. It's inspired by the typical “Norr Mälarstrand” aesthetic, where the architecture lies on the border of classicism and modernism. And the rug's pattern is based on elements and colours from the building –a fun way to add depth to your space. Its plush pile is thanks to its hand-loomed construction in 100% New Zealand wool.
I love this one for adding a subtle colour accent with a modern edge. The mix of oatmeal and green tones makes it incredibly versatile, working well in both contemporary and minimalistic interiors. It’s perfect placed under a neutral sofa or bed, as it introduces warmth without overpowering the space. For styling tips, pair it with muted, earthy tones or geometric decor to highlight its modern design. It also works well in smaller areas like hallways or reading nooks where a touch of texture can make a big impact. Because of its soft, muted palette, it’s easy to incorporate into various colour schemes, ensuring it remains a cohesive focal point in your room.
