Description
Diaphanous, evanescent poetry… Incredibly scenographic, the Nuée pendant by designer Marc Sadler is imbued with great lightness despite its imposing dimensions. This voluminous pendant evokes a light cumulus floating in the air. It consists of several layers of superimposed technical fabric which form an airy volume with organic contours. Nuée sports extraordinary irregular sculptural shapes, characterised by innumerable folds, creases, curves and bumps. This pendant offers a wonderful interplay of shadows and light thanks to the different thicknesses of the fabric in the folds. Light passes through the material in an irregular and evocative way, creating areas of shadows on the white surface. Quite striking, this incredible chiaroscuro reminds us of a darkening cloud. The effect is splendid: vivid, vibrant, soft and warm, the light seems to come alive with movement. The light is sculpted in the fabric and seems to breathe to offer another kind of luminosity, definitively subtle. The fragility of Nuée is deceptive! The hi-tech fabric is extremely durable and tear-resistant. The Nuée pendant contains two LED light sources: one inside the cloud which accentuates the overlapping effect, creating a soft, diffuse light throughout the lamp, while another LED source directs the light downwards without glare. Designer Marc Sadler on the Nuée pendant: "Nuée is a large cloud of floating light, suggesting the choreographic movement of flocks of birds, sweeping across the sky in incredible abstract patterns. ".
