Description

Design. Keeping both parent and child happy, the Nova high sleeper bed with pull-out desk and futon makes smaller spaces as practical as possible. Beneath the raised bed is a cosy nook that has been cleverly designed to include a chill-out space, with comfy futon that easily extends into an extra bed. Alongside this, additional surface space and a dedicated homework area comes courtesy of the desk, which rolls out on castors when required. Contemporary and versatile, the white solid wood frame is ever-stylish and incredibly safe. Please note clip on shelf is not included but is available to purchase, please contact us for more details.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Nova D highsleeper for its practical design and playful aesthetic, making it a great centrepiece in a child's room. Its blue wood finish lends itself well to contemporary, Scandi, or even vintage-inspired interiors, adding a subtle pop of colour without overwhelming the space. The pull-out desk and futon make it versatile for both study and relaxing, ideal for smaller rooms or multi-functional spaces. Styling tips include pairing it with soft, colour-coordinated textiles and playful accessories to enhance its youthful charm. To keep the space organised, incorporate coordinated storage solutions around the bed, creating a clutter-free environment that encourages neatness while providing a cosy retreat for your little one.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
