Description

Design. Bring fun and functionality to your child’s bedroom with the Nova high sleeper bed. Raised off the ground forming a hideaway sleep haven, it creates valuable space underneath that can be used in a multitude of ways. Handy for teenagers, this cosy nook could house a homework desk, sofa bed or extra storage, while younger children may enjoy more room to play. Sturdy and safe, the white wooden frame will never go out of style, whilst optional colour accents allow for customisation.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Nova A Children's Highsleeper Bed because its clean, contemporary design in blue wood makes it versatile for many interior styles, from Scandi to playful modern spaces. It works particularly well in smaller rooms, maximising available space with its elevated sleeping platform and under-bed storage potential. For styling, consider pairing it with neutral walls and colourful accessories like cushions or playful wall decals to create a lively yet practical space. Additionally, adding hanging baskets or hooks underneath can personalise it further while keeping the room organised. It’s a functional choice that offers longevity as kids grow, blending comfort and practicality seamlessly.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
