Description

The Herit chair in black leather was designed by Simon Legald for Normann Copenhagen. The piece is a gorgeous exemplification of Danish design heritage. It bears such a striking homage to the form and aesthetic of the discipline that it is named after the word "heritage" as a symbol of its traditional roots. Legald wanted to create a versatile yet highly durable chair that would fit in a modern home. Inspired by iconic Danish design, the chair incorporated traditional hallmarks of form and figure but now cast in new, innovative materials. The combination of materials is what really sets the Herit apart from other chairs — the body is made of moulded plastic with a core of foam. The legs have been carved from solid oak to ensure a firm and sturdy base. The overall form of the Herit has a timeless silhouette that renders it a beautiful and highly functional addition to the home.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its sleek, minimalist design and versatile colourway. The black leather seat combined with the black oak frame offers a sophisticated, modern look that works well in both contemporary and Scandinavian-inspired interiors. It’s a practical piece that can elevate a dining space while remaining understated enough to blend seamlessly with a variety of colour schemes. When styling, consider pairing it with a textured table, such as reclaimed wood or a modern matte finish, to add visual interest. For added comfort and contrast, mixing different chair styles around the table can create a more relaxed, eclectic vibe, while keeping the connection through the black leather and oak details for cohesion.
