Description

Our Yasha cabinet, made from sustainable mango wood, has a beautiful patina and is finished with a walnut wash. Block handles and a simple reeded design on the front panels add interest and texture. The cabinet is raised off the ground giving it a light and airy feel, perfect for small spaces or bringing purpose to unloved corners of the home. Three inner wooden shelves provide spacious storage for bedlinen, bath sheets, clothing or anything you'd like to hide from view. A sideboard is also available in the collection.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Nkuku Yasha reeded mango wood cabinet for its natural, textured finish and versatile style. It works particularly well in boho, Scandi, or rustic interiors where warmth and natural materials are key. The reeded detailing adds subtle visual interest without overpowering a space, making it ideal for adding storage without detracting from other design elements. Practical styling tips include pairing it with woven baskets, potted plants, or statement lighting nearby to create a cosy, layered look. Its compact size also makes it a great choice for hallways or bedrooms where space-saving storage is a priority.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
