Description

The Yamal clock is cast from aluminium with a textured antique brass finish that adds character and warmth. The simple yet stylish contemporary design works just as well as an understated piece of wall art as it does a timepiece. Forged from individual pieces of aluminium, then hand welded and held at the centre by the robust hands to create an elegant and evocative piece.

Our Stylist Says

I love this clock for its minimalist yet industrial feel, making it a versatile piece for a variety of interiors. Its antique brass finish adds warmth and a touch of vintage charm, perfect for complementing both modern and rustic spaces. It's especially effective in neutral or muted colour schemes where it can serve as a subtle focal point. When styling, consider placing it above a sideboard or console to balance other wall art, or use it to add interest to a hallway or living room wall. Keep accessories simple around it to let the clock's distinctive design stand out, and for added style, pair it with other brass accents or textured materials for a layered, cohesive look.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
