Description

The heavy-weight, organic design of our Vivan side table makes it a standout piece that will look beautiful in any setting, from living room to pool house. Hand-carved from sustainable mango wood with a beautifully textured grooved surface that accentuates its simplicity and style, this generously proportioned table has a fresh contemporary feel that is effortlessly elegant. A coffee table is also available in the collection.

Our Stylist Says

I love how the grooved wood side table brings texture and warmth without overpowering a scheme. Its natural tones suit Scandi, Japandi or pared-back boho interiors, pairing neatly with muted upholstery and linen accents. For styling, float it beside a low-profile sofa and top with a small stack of coffee-table books, a sculptural vase and a flickering tealight. The subtle ridges cast gentle shadows, so keep surrounding décor simple to let its organic detail stand out.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
