Description

Hand-carved from natural mango wood, this stylish mirror features beautifully hand-etched grooves that add depth and texture. Its soft, bright finish complements a variety of interiors, making it a striking standalone piece in hallways, living rooms, or bedrooms. Functional, artistic and elegantly understated, we think our Vivan mirror showcases the perfect balance of style and craftsmanship.

Our Stylist Says

I love this nkuku mirror for its natural, textured wood frame that adds warmth and a subtle organic feel to any space. It's versatile enough to work well in a range of interiors, from Scandi-inspired minimalist schemes to more boho and rustic looks. Practical styling tips include hanging it above a wooden sideboard or console to create a cohesive, earthy vibe, or using it as a focal point in an entryway to make a welcoming statement. Its understated design lends itself to layering with other natural materials like woven baskets or linen textiles, while its reflective surface helps brighten smaller or darker rooms without overwhelming the decor.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
