Description

The Vanita fish bowl shape vase has an appealingly curved profile. The subtle smoke coloured glass runs cleanly through this beautiful vase. This shape is perfect for a centre piece and and is better sutied to displaying flowers with more rigid stems and large heads such as peonies, hydrangeas and roses. The general rule is the height of the arrangement should be at least one and a half times more than the height of vase. The practical outward lip not only looks great but ensures the flower stems are supported.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Nkuku Vanita glass vase for its versatile, muted smoke tone which effortlessly adds a touch of understated elegance to any space. Its wide shape makes it perfect for showcasing statement stems or a small bouquet, working well in both modern and rustic interiors. For styling tips, try pairing it with dried grasses for a natural, boho look or fill it with fresh flowers for a colourful pop against neutral backgrounds. It also works beautifully on wooden surfaces or open shelving, where its subtle colour and shape can be fully appreciated without overwhelming the space.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
