Description

The stylish design of our Ukari dining chairs is given a luxurious finish with the tactile and durable qualities of leather. The padded leather seat and back have a modest but interesting stitching detail that adds a finishing touch. | nkuku Ukari Leather Dining Chair | Seating | Aged Black | 78 x 46 x 52 cm

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of this sleek black leather chair for its slim metal frame and gently curved back - it’s comfortable without looking bulky. It fits especially well in industrial or minimalist schemes, but the warm leather also works against lighter Scandi-style palettes. For styling, try pairing it with a reclaimed wood table to soften the metal, and add a simple cushion in muted tones if you need extra comfort. You can mix a couple of these with a bench or different-shaped chairs around the table for an informal, collected feel.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
