Description

This practical, durable, and comfortable design has a simple, solid iron frame and footrest, with a padded seat and back support. Upholstered in handmade buffalo leather, it is stitched to create three panels which adds a stylish design detail to the piece. Designed to work with a kitchen island, counter or breakfast bar, the Ukari counter chair tucks neatly under a kitchen countertop. The leather upholstery is a by-product and is dyed using vegetable extract and tree bark which means the leather colour will enrich further with time.

I’m a big fan of the Ukari stool for its slim metal frame and gently worn leather seat - it feels robust without looking bulky. It sits neatly under a kitchen island or high table and the muted brown leather works equally well in industrial-style lofts, Scandi-inspired apartments or modern farmhouse kitchens. For styling, keep the look uncluttered: space stools about 20-25cm apart and tie in natural textures, say a wool throw over the back or a simple sisal rug beneath. A row of pendant lights overhead will emphasise the clean lines and highlight the rich leather tones.
