Description

The Sotta leather bar chair provides supreme comfort without compromising on style, thanks to the sumptuous leather seat and back. The rich tone of the leather contrasts beautifully with the dark iron framework of the legs. The A-frame design of the legs feels considered and sturdy and the footrest is perfectly placed. | nkuku Sotta Leather Bar Chair | Seating | Tan

Our Stylist Says

I’d pick the Sotta stool for its clean lines and warm tan leather seat - it adds instant texture without overpowering a space. The slim black metal frame keeps the look light, so it suits both industrial and contemporary kitchens, as well as rustic-scandi breakfast bars. For styling, contrast the leather with a pale stone or concrete worktop and layer in woven baskets or greenery to soften the metal edge. Because the hide develops a patina, it’s a practical choice for everyday use, and its narrow profile means you can tuck several in without feeling cramped.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
