Price History

Description

The Sikkim glass and marble lantern marries two simple but beautiful materials, clear recycled glass and solid grey marble. The variegated tones of marble ensure each piece is unique. The solid marble base is also the perfect support for the elegant curved glass surround. The glass has a smooth rolled edge and appealing hammered effect, which brings an added softness to the candlelight. This is an easy styling piece that translates across a variety of settings, both inside and out. Simply add a pillar candle to complete the look. The recycled glass is mouth blown into this elegant curved shape. Although we encourage using the lantern outside we do not recommend leaving it outside exposed to the elements.

Our Stylist Says

I love this candle holder for its versatile and understated elegance. Its clear glass design makes it easy to incorporate into a variety of interiors, from modern minimalism to rustic or boho styles. It’s perfect for creating a warm, inviting atmosphere on side tables, shelves, or dining tables. Practical styling tips include grouping several in different sizes for a layered look or pairing one with textured fabrics and greenery for added visual interest. The transparency allows the candle’s flicker to shine through, making it ideal for cosy evenings or outdoor spaces. Overall, it’s a subtle yet stylish addition that effortlessly enhances any setting.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
