Description

These beautifully stitched off-white and grey lampshades are made from 100% cotton and match the rest of our Sanja stripe furniture range with their timeless aesthetic. The muted stripe in a faded grey is hand-stitched to create a subtle, textured look that is understated and works well as a neutral addition to a room, fitting into a variety of design schemes from rustic to contemporary. Versatile and easygoing, these shades have been designed to match all our nkuku. Available in multiple sizes.

Our Stylist Says

I love this lampshade for its clean, versatile look that balances texture with simplicity. Its off-white and grey stripes add subtle visual interest without overpowering, making it suitable for a variety of interiors-think coastal, Scandinavian, or rustic schemes. The extra-large size makes it ideal for statement pendant lighting or oversized table lamps, helping to anchor a room’s design. Practical styling tips include pairing it with wooden or neutral bases for a cosy, homely feel, or placing it in a more minimalist space for a refined look. Its neutral tones also make it adaptable, easily blending with existing colour palettes and adding a touch of understated elegance to any room.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
