Description

Our Rizal fluted glass bedside table lamp blends considered design with time-honoured glassmaking. The ridged glass shade sits atop a sturdy iron base, hand-finished in antique brass, offering a refined contrast of texture and tone. Compact yet striking, it brings a quiet elegance to side tables, hallways, and fireplaces; perfect for creating a warm, ambient glow where you need it most.

Our Stylist Says

This bedside lamp is a versatile piece that works well in a range of interiors, from boho and eclectic to transitional and modern schemes. Its antique brass detail adds warmth and a touch of sophistication, while the fluted glass gives it subtle texture and visual interest. I love pairing it with natural materials like wood and linen for a cosy, layered look or using it as a statement piece on a neutral bedside table. Practical styling tips include keeping the cables tidy for a sleek finish and layering with soft lighting to create a warm, inviting atmosphere in the bedroom. It’s a timeless addition that combines function with understated style.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
