Description

Contemporary, clean lines define our rectangular Rishin Coffee Table, with its sturdy iron frame in gun-metal grey and a mango-wood top in a dark walnut finish. The surface has been hand-grooved for an interesting reeded effect that adds texture to the piece. Practical and versatile, its a simple design and shape that pairs easily with a sofa in any living space. There is a matching side table in the collection.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a big fan of this grooved-wood coffee table for its clean lines and natural oak tone, which bring warmth without overwhelming a space. The thin metal frame keeps it feeling light, so it works just as well in a compact city flat as in a more generous open-plan living area. Styling-wise, layer a stack of large-format books off-centre and top them with a small ceramic vase or sculptural object to add height. If you prefer a plant, a low-profile succulent tray or a couple of glass terrariums fit neatly into the grooves. It sits happily in Scandi, modern-industrial or even rustic-chic schemes - just pick cushions, throws and rugs in complementary muted hues to keep the look cohesive.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
