Description

The Ranchi sideboard is perfectly proportioned to accomodate the funcional needs of a media display cabinet, but it works just as well as a striking addition to an entrance hallway or as dining room sideboard. The strikingly simple design is crafted from solid iron and finished in the warm hues of antique brass, with the glass fronted doors opening to reveal a single wide shelf. Dress with a table lamp, photo frame and other decorative accessories to create an attractive display. | nkuku Ranchi Iron Sideboard | Storage Furniture | Antique Brass

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of the Ranchi sideboard’s antique-brass finish and slender iron frame - it brings a subtle industrial warmth that works beautifully in modern farmhouse, eclectic or minimalist settings. The glass-fronted doors keep treasured tabletop pieces on display yet dust-free, making it equally at home in a dining room or lounge. For styling, keep the top simple: try a low ceramic lamp, a cluster of sculptural vases and a trailing plant. Inside, mix woven baskets with neatly stacked plates or glassware to add texture. Pair with dark timber floors and neutral textiles so the brass really stands out.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
