Description

This vase features a parallel line design in two soft, natural tones, making it effortlessly easy to style across a range of interior schemes. Finished with a reactive glaze, each piece develops a subtly textured surface as it reacts in the kiln, ensuring no two are exactly alike. A beautifully balanced combination of form, texture, and understated colour.

Our Stylist Says

This small nkuku vase is a versatile piece that works beautifully in both modern and rustic interiors. I love its reactive glaze finish, which adds subtle variations in colour and texture, making each one unique. It's perfect for styling on a console table, shelf, or sideboard, where it can hold fresh stems, dried grasses, or stand alone as an sculptural accent. To enhance its natural and earthy look, pair it with textured ceramics or wood accents. Keep it simple for understated elegance or cluster a few with other organic shapes for a more layered display. Its size makes it adaptable for smaller spaces or as part of a curated collection of decorative accessories.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
