Our Stylist Says
I love this vintage printer’s drawer for adding an industrial, utilitarian touch to a variety of interiors. Its antique brass finish lends a warm, aged look that works particularly well in eclectic, bohemian, or rustic schemes, but it can also provide an interesting contrast in more modern, minimalist spaces. When styling, consider using it as a decorative shelf or display unit, grouping it with small plants, vintage books, or art objects for a curated look. Practical tips include mounting it at eye level in a living room or hallway to make the most of its shelf-like quality, or even repurposing it as a jewellery organiser or storage solution for small accessories. Its unique grid structure allows for creative layering, making it a versatile statement piece that elevates any wall display.

About Nkuku
The Story of Nkuku
Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.
The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.
Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.
Values and Ethical Commitment
Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.
They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.
Sustainability at Its Heart
Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.
The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
