Description

Evocative of laid-back summers, this Nesari hanging chair offers the ultimate outdoor reading spot. The traditional style and natural rattan make this the perfect seating for relaxed outdoor living, but it works equally well in the corner of a living space if there's a suitable hanging attachment. Secure the piece from a sturdy branch, beam or load-bearing frame or hook and recline in a gentle swaying style. Lightweight and easy to take down for winter storage, this durable woven seat is beautifully handcrafted by steam-bending natural rattan, an incredibly fast-growing crop, making for a low-impact material choice. Installation Indoor installation should be carried out by a professional tradesperson. Mistakes may mean damage to your ceiling or hanging chair, as well as injuries to anyone using the chair. Hiring a tradesperson will also save you time. If using outdoors, make sure that the rope is not exposed to excessive moisture. The rope provided with this hanging chair is made from natural fibres which are susceptible to environmental factors. To prolong the life of the rope, we recommend cleaning it with warm soapy water. The hanging chair should be installed under a shelter to avoid any rope degradation or mould. We recommend checking the rope on a regular basis. For indoor installation, ensure you have an accessible ceiling joist away from walls and other obstacles. Ensure you have plenty of space to hang the chair.

Our Stylist Says

This hanging chair is a fantastic addition for adding a touch of relaxed boho style to outdoor or indoor spaces. I love how it effortlessly combines natural rattan with a light, airy silhouette, making it versatile enough for gardens, conservatories, or even covered patios. It works well styled with neutral cushions or throws for a cosy, inviting look, or with vibrant textiles for a more eclectic vibe. Practical styling tips include pairing it with lush greenery or hanging it from a sturdy beam with a good quality chain, and ensuring it’s placed where it can sway gently without obstructing pathways. It’s perfect for creating a laid-back seating nook or a statement feature in a garden lounge area.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
