Description

Product Information Designed with comfort in mind Nkuku's Nalla has a deep seat, padded cushions and in case that wasn't enough, it comes with a separate slumber cushion as well. It's beautifully crafted by skilled artisans with a high back that gives extra support and adds to its imposing look that commands space. Turned leg details the rich velvet fabric are the final flourishes. A word on the woodThe mango wood used to make Nkuku's wooden pieces come from mango trees that have stopped bearing fruit. This allows the farmers to plant more trees and provides them with a supplementary income. Try before you buyWe're confident in our furniture's quality, but it's always a good idea to check that it's a good personal fit for you.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Nkuku Nalla velvet armchair for its rich, tactile texture and timeless silhouette, making it a versatile choice for various interiors. It works particularly well in eclectic, vintage, or boho schemes, where its warm mustard hue can serve as a bold statement piece. For styling tips, mix it with neutral-toned cushions or layered fabrics to add depth, or pair it with natural wood or metallic accents for a balanced look. Practicality-wise, its plush velvet offers comfort, while its sturdy legs make it durable enough to stand out in both living rooms and cosy reading nooks. It’s a great accent chair that brings colour and texture without overwhelming the space.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
