Description

With its warm brass framework and generous glass panels, our well designed Nakuru console table has an elegant, contemporary feel. Two practical compartments make it easy to store your belongings while keeping the top of the table clear for decorative items. Its size and shape mean it’s ideal for positioning in a hallway but its pared back aesthetic makes it a versatile and sophisticated addition for almost any interior. Style with other pieces in the Nakuru collection for a striking and harmonious arrangement.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of this brass-frame console for its slim, open profile - it keeps hallways and smaller living rooms feeling light and uncluttered. The mix of metal and clear glass works equally well in modern, industrial or even minimalist Scandi schemes, and the narrow depth means you can add style without eating into floor space. For styling, I’d lean on a round mirror above, a sculptural lamp or a stack of art books on one side and a small plant or ceramic vessel on the other. Tuck a woven basket or low storage box underneath for throws or shoes to keep things tidy.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
