Description

The Nkuku Nakuru coffee table is as practical as it is stylish. Its generous size makes it ideal for arranging in front of a sofa, while the practical glass shelf is perfect for storing books or decorative items, leaving the top clear for drinks or flowers. The brass finish makes this table stand out, while the glass tabletop and shelf offer an understated, classic feel. The frame is made from sturdy iron and welded into a beautifully elegant shape. Handmade by skilled artisans in India using traditional techniques. To care for the glass, use a glass cleaner or wash in warm soapy water. Metal surfaces can be cleaned using a damp cloth. Do not use anything abrasive, or use harsh chemicals. Dry and polish with a soft, non-abrasive cloth.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of the Nakuru table for its slim brass frame and clear glass top - it keeps a room feeling light and works equally well in Scandi, contemporary or even art-deco schemes. To style it, start with a low stack of coffee-table books, add a simple tray for remotes or candles, and introduce a small ceramic vase with seasonal foliage. A textured wool rug underneath will anchor the table, while touches of dark metal or black ceramics nearby will give your living space a well-balanced look.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
