Made from sustainable banana leaves, this lampshade brings natural warmth and texture to your interior. Its organic surface diffuses the light beautifully, creating a soft, ambient glow. The leaf-s rich fibres add depth and character, making each piece unique. A simple yet striking way to introduce earthy, tactile elements into your home.

Our Stylist Says

I love this lamp shade for its natural, organic feel, making it a versatile addition to both contemporary and boho interiors. The banana leaf design adds texture and warmth, ideal for creating cosy, welcoming spaces. It works beautifully in living rooms or bedrooms where you want a relaxed yet elegant aesthetic. For styling tips, pair it with neutral or earthy tones and complement with wooden or rattan furniture to highlight its natural appeal. It also lends itself well to layered lighting schemes-use it with warm bulbs for a soft glow that enhances the texture of the shade. Practicality-wise, it's perfect for adding a touch of nature indoors without overwhelming the space, and its medium size makes it adaptable for various lamp styles and heights.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
