Description

This unique piece made from metal, rattan and wire is a striking addition to any kitchen counter. The base has been shaped to offer an elevated first tier, keeping the air flowing through the baskets for freshness. Ideal for fruit, vegetables or eggs, this eye-catching piece brings texture and tactility to your space and makes fresh food the centrepiece of the room. The metal ring makes for easy maneuvering.

Our Stylist Says

I love this basket stand because it brings a natural, earthy element to both traditional and modern interiors. Its rattan construction adds warmth and texture, making it perfect for kitchens, dining rooms, or even a cosy breakfast nook. The two-tier design is practical for displaying fresh fruit, baked goods, or snacks, keeping your table neat and inviting. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with neutral-toned tableware or contrasting coloured fruit to make the stand pop. It also works well as a decorative piece when filled with seasonal produce or even as a centrepiece for a rustic or boho-inspired setting. Keep it centre-stage on your table or sideboard for effortless organisation with a natural touch.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
