Description

The elegant brass contours of our Mahi Console Table have timeless and versatile appeal. The well proportioned shelves and practical depth make it it ideal poised in a hallway, or as a sideboard in a living space. | nkuku Mahi Console Table | Tables | Antique Brass

Our Stylist Says

I really like the Mahi console for its sleek, gold-tone frame and open profile - it adds a touch of warmth without feeling heavy. Its slim depth makes it ideal for hallways, living rooms or even as a backing behind a sofa, where you want storage without losing floor space. The three tiers are just enough for displaying a lamp and vase on top, a stack of books or small planters in the middle, and a neat basket or two below. To style it, place a statement lamp or sculptural vase on the upper shelf and balance it with a small cluster of greenery. On the middle tier, keep books, trays or framed photos in coordinated colour tones, leaving some empty space so it doesn’t look crowded. Finally, tuck a woven basket or low planter on the bottom shelf for extra texture and hidden storage. This piece works particularly well in modern, Scandi-inspired or contemporary-bohemian schemes.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
