Description

The striking Luzon display console table is the perfect piece for showcasing unique decorative items. The console table features a clean brass frame, a clear glass tabletop, and an attractive lower shelf that is crafted from wood and cane. The lower shelf has two parts: a large rectangular removable tray and a smaller square tray. Style this lower shelf with decorative objet or neatly stack your favourite books, keeping the top clear for a statement lamp or tealights.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of the Luzon console’s slim brass frame and warm mango-wood shelves - it brings both structure and natural texture without feeling heavy. It sits equally well in a hallway as a living room, suiting schemes from Scandi-inspired neutrals to relaxed boho or modern farmhouse. To style it, I’d layer a woven basket or two on the lower shelf for out-of-sight storage, then top with a mix of heights: a round mirror above, a sculptural lamp at one end and a low vase or tray for everyday essentials at the other. A small stack of books or a slender plant completes the look without overcrowding.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
