Description

With its distinctive silhouette and generous proportions, the Laya coffee table makes a striking centrepiece. The circular tabletop rests on an elegantly shaped base, creating a balanced and sculptural form. A raw wood finish enhances the natural grain and knots, bringing warmth and texture to your space.

Our Stylist Says

I love this round carved table for its versatile, natural look that instantly brings warmth and texture to a variety of interiors. It works particularly well in pared-back, neutral schemes or boho-inspired spaces where its organic shape and craft details add visual interest. The chunky, carved design makes it a great focal point in a relaxed living room or as a statement piece in a more minimal setting. Practical styling tips include pairing it with layered textiles and layered greenery to emphasise its earthy vibe, or using it as a backdrop for decorative bowls and seasonal accessories. Its substantial presence lends itself to both casual gatherings and more refined settings, making it an adaptable addition to any living space.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
