Description

The subtle, geometric pattern on our large Kesu kilim pouf appealingly blends a mix of colour tones. The washed finish is understated and homely. Woven from a Hemp and cotton mix, the Kesu has a soft cotton feel and is perfect for the outdoor gatherings and alfresco summer evenings. //We strongly recommend that the Kesu is not left outside as it will deteriorate if exposed to the elements. | nkuku Kesu Kilim Pouf | Seating | Natural | Large

Our Stylist Says

The Nkuku Kesu Kilim Pouf is a versatile piece that adds texture and warmth to a variety of interiors. I love it for its handcrafted, natural aesthetic-ideal for boho, eclectic, or even contemporary schemes that embrace artisanal touches. Its large size makes it functional as additional seating or a cosy footrest, perfect for layering in cosy corners or living rooms. Style tips include pairing it with other woven or textured fabrics to highlight its artisanal charm, or using it to bring a touch of global influence into neutral, monochrome spaces. Its natural tones also make it easy to coordinate with a wide colour palette, making it a practical yet stylish addition to many settings.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
