Description

The beautiful dark walnut finish of this Kayia mirror creates a bold and striking piece that will add reflective warmth to any living space. Crafted by artisans from acacia wood, the hand carved pattern allows the warm tone of the natural grain to shine through, while the generous design adds depth and drama for a focal point that really draws the eye.

Our Stylist Says

I love this piece because it combines natural materials with clean design, making it versatile for various interiors. The Nkuku Kayia mirror’s acacia wood frame adds warmth and texture, perfect for adding a cosy element to living rooms, hallways, or bedrooms. It works especially well in Scandinavian, boho, or rustic schemes but can also make a statement in more contemporary settings when paired with minimalistic decor. Practical styling tips include hanging it at eye level over a console or sideboard to maximise its impact, or grouping it with other wall art to create an eye-catching gallery wall. Its round shape and warm wood tone make it a stylish yet functional accessory for adding depth and character to any wall.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
