Description

The Kavya kilim occasional armchair blends rustic warmth with traditional craftsmanship. Its robust mango wood frame features a rough sawn finish that enhances the rich tones and textures of the natural grain. Upholstered in a classic kilim weave of cotton and jute, the seat showcases a palette of soft rusts and earthy greens. The result is a striking and inviting chair that adds both comfort and artisanal character to any living space.

Our Stylist Says

I love the nkuku Kavya Kilim armchair for its natural, handcrafted appeal and versatile style. It works beautifully in both boho and Scandi-inspired interiors, adding a warm, textured focal point. This armchair is ideal for creating cozy corners in living rooms or reading nooks, thanks to its comfortable shape and earthy tones. Practical styling tips include pairing it with layered textiles such as throws and cushions in neutral or muted shades to enhance its natural feel, or complementing it with wooden side tables and organic accessories for a cohesive look. Its understated elegance makes it easy to integrate into various colour palettes, making it a practical yet stylish addition to many interiors.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
