Description

This striking Kara Standing Lamp has all the elements of a timeless classic. The aged bronze finish really defines the stylish structure of the lamp. Our Kara lamp is available in two sizes, a table lamp and floor lamp.

Our Stylist Says

I love this tall black floor lamp for its sleek, industrial look that works particularly well in both modern and rustic interiors. Its adjustable height makes it versatile for different settings, whether used as a task light next to a reading chair or to add ambient lighting in a living space. It pairs beautifully with neutral tones and natural materials, like wood and linen, to create a cosy, inviting atmosphere. Practical styling tips include positioning it near a statement armchair or sofa, and balancing its bold silhouette with softer textures and minimal accessories nearby to let its silhouette shine without overwhelming the space.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
