Description

Crafted from rustic reclaimed wood once used as ceiling beams in traditional Indian homes, this bed frame carries a rich sense of history. The chunky structure features a headboard made from three solid wood planks, highlighting the grain, knots, and natural imperfections that define its raw, earthy aesthetic. Built to bring warmth and texture to the bedroom, it-s also available in a Super King size for larger spaces.

Our Stylist Says

I love this bed for its natural, reclaimed wood finish, which adds warmth and texture to a variety of interiors. It works particularly well in rustic, Scandinavian, or boho bedrooms where natural materials and an organic feel are key. The king size offers generous proportions, creating a welcoming focal point. For styling, consider layering neutral bedding with textured throws and cushions to enhance its earthy vibe. Pairing it with minimal or vintage furniture keeps the look effortless and sophisticated. Practical tip: the reclaimed wood lends character and durability, making it a sound long-term investment for creating a cosy, welcoming retreat.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
