Description

The Iswa leather and cane dining chair marries together three contrasting materials. It features an industrial black iron frame with a wood and cane back support, and a dark green goat leather seat. The natural cane detailing gives this chair an attractive and light feel, while its padded leather seat adds comfort as well as style.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a big fan of the Iswa chair for its smart blend of green leather, natural cane and slim black frame - it brings warmth without feeling bulky. It sits equally well in a Scandi-inspired dining room, a pared-back industrial loft or a laid-back boho kitchen. To style, mix it with a simple oak or metal-edged table and layer in natural linens or a jute rug. If you want a pop of pattern, drape a woven throw or place a cushion in muted tones on the seat. Its slender profile also makes it a great extra chair for a snug breakfast nook.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
