Description

Crafted from sustainable mango wood, our Indali dining table has a classic silhouette and pared back aesthetic that makes it a truly versatile product. The craftsmanship that goes into this well-designed table is perfectly illustrated by its robust and timeless design. Mango wood is only harvested once the trees have stopped bearing fruit and their short-growing cycle means they provide a supplementary income for local farmers. This table looks sophisticated in a dining room or kitchen and its size means 3-4 people can comfortably sit around it.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a big fan of this Nkuku mango-wood dining table for its warm, natural grain and uncomplicated silhouette - it instantly softens any scheme. It’s equally at home in a Scandi-inspired flat, a country cottage or a laid-back coastal setting, especially when paired with woven chairs or simple spindle backs. For styling, keep the tabletop clear of clutter: a jute runner or round seagrass mat echoes the wood’s texture, while a trio of stoneware bowls or a small green plant adds personality without overwhelming the space. Finish with linen napkins and neutral ceramics for a relaxed, cohesive look.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
