Description

Stylish and functional, our Idhant task lamp mixes the elegance of antique brass with an industrial design aesthetic for a timeless lamp that will fit perfectly into any home study, office or desk space. The elongated cone shade creates a pool of directional light that is perfect for reading and working without distracting from the ambiance in the rest of the room. It's a tactile piece that will bring warmth and texture to a space.

Our Stylist Says

I love this table lamp’s sleek, vintage-inspired look - the antique brass finish adds warmth and character, making it a versatile piece for various interiors. It works particularly well in traditionally styled spaces like classic studies or living rooms, but its minimal design can also complement modern or eclectic decor. Practical styling tips include placing it on a side table or console as a reading light or pairing it with neutral tones and textured fabrics to create a cosy, inviting atmosphere. Its understated elegance allows it to blend seamlessly into both understated and more decorative schemes, making it a reliable choice for adding timeless charm and functional lighting to any room.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
