Description

Sophisticated and stylish, the Harsha Dining Chair is beautifully upholstered in handmade tan buffalo leather, stitched vertically along the back for a striking ribbed finish. Offering both comfort and support, the timeless design of this chair works equally well at a dining table or at a desk. This leather upholstery is a by-product. The herds are farmed by local herdsmen and the leather is dyed using vegetable extract and tree bark, this means the leather colour will enrich further with time.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of the Harsha tan chair for its clean lines, slim black legs and softly ribbed leather - it adds texture without feeling bulky. It suits everything from Scandi-inspired schemes to industrial lofts or mid-century modern dining areas, pairing equally well with a natural oak table or a simple white marble top. For styling, keep surrounding tones neutral so the warm leather really pops. Layer in a jute rug or linen cushions for added depth, or drape a soft sheepskin over the back for comfort. Group a matching set around your dining table to maintain a balanced, cohesive look.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
